Golden-Field RCMP in B.C. says that four male snowmobilers from Alberta may be hit with a hefty bill after they required rescue on the weekend.
The group became stranded at Quartz Creek on Saturday. A rescue was dispatched to the uninjured men, who holed up at a cabin, unable to leave thanks to the fact that their snowmobiles had become stuck in the snow.
A helicopter was required to pull the snowmobiles out and transport them to safety.
The four violators, who may be charged under the National Parks Act, could be fined up to $25,000 for the whole operation.
