A local Toronto bakery is offering up some hotter items than the banana bread.
World Class Bakery, at St. Clair Avenue W., is getting in on the hype around the U.S. Powerball lottery, by offering their customers a ticket for orders exceeding $20..
Lisa Guluzian, operator at World Class Bakery, is hoping that the campaign can offer some relief to those affected by the post-Holiday “ho-hums”.
“It’s just to cheer people up,” Guluzian said of the giveaway. “We’re in a recession, let’s forget about it for awhile.”
The bakery, which has been open at its location for over 15 years, did the same thing almost a decade ago when the Powerball lottery reached a measly $340 million. This time around, Guluzian is hoping that the lucky ticket will be from her store. Asked if she would sell her secret banana bread recipe for the $1.4 billion grand prize, Guluzian said, “I’d have to think about it.”
What would you do if you won the Powerball, and the $1.4 billion prize?
