One man has been given a six-month sentence following a fatal hit and run accident near Lansdowne Avenue and Davenport Road in 2012.
Tomer Samson was a Toronto teacher who was killed in the accident while cycling four years ago and the driver, Miguel Oliveria, who pleaded guilty to the charges against him, will now serve weekends in jail following his house arrest.
Oliveria will be required to serve his sentence from Friday at 7 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. over the course of six months. He will also serve three years of probation and 240 hours of community service.
The judge has also ruled that he will not be able to drive for a two year period.
35-year-old, Tom Samson lost his life in the fatal crash on November 23rd, 2012 at 7 a.m.
He was a teacher at Swansea Public School in Toronto.
