The city may have been basking in above seasonal temperatures over the past weekend but all that is set to change.
A special weather statement has now been issued by Environment Canada for the city of Toronto calling for between 5-10 centimeters of snow on Tuesday, with 10 to 15 cm of snow possible along the lakeshore regions of eastern Lake Ontario.
A low pressure system tracking across Lake Huron and as far east as southern Quebec is responsible for the inclement weather with winds of up to 70 km/h also anticipated.
Environment Canada is warning that the morning commute on Tuesday is likely to be affected by the snowfall, while the wind will also cause problems, leading to the possibility of reduced visibility from blowing snow.
The agency is advising motorists to exercise caution as a result.
