The 17-year-old boy shot in East York earlier this week has died in hospital and is now Toronto’s first homicide of 2016.
He was shot in the neck in the Danforth-Victoria Park Area around 6 p.m. on Monday and rushed to hospital.
Police say he had just returned from walking his dog and returned home again when he was approached by 2 men outside his home.
After a brief two-minute conversation, a struggle ensued and one of the men shot the boy.
The men then walked towards the direction of TTC Victoria Park subway station.
Constable Victor Kwong says the teen died from his injuries on Thursday and homicide has taken over the investigation.
He has been identified as Joseph Petit of Toronto.
