The OPP have charged a Mississauga doctor with fraud after an investigation by the Anti-Rackets Branch Health Fraud Investigation Unit.
The case was referred by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) after it received complaints regarding the AIMS Multi Specialty Clinic.
The complaints were based on patients attending the clinic and being unnecessarily referred to other doctors at the clinic
59 year old Doctor Carlo Meola of Mississauga, is charged with Fraud Over $5000 and is set to appear in a Brampton court on March 1st.
Police say the alleged fraudulent billings have been ongoing for and say the fraud value is significant.
