After nearly 50 years of allegations comedian Bill Cosby has finally seen the inside of a courtroom related to sexual assault crimes.
The 78 year old was escorted into a Pennsylvania court room with a myriad of reports in tow all asking Cosby for a comment on new allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand, a Toronto massage therapist back in 2004.
The Montgomery County prosecutor announced Wednesday that Cosby had been charged with a felony charge of aggravated indecent assault. The decision is a reversal from a previous district attorney, who declined to charge Cosby in 2005.
The comedian has been granted 1 million dollars bail and will be back in court on January 14th.
Cosby’s lawyer declined to comment on the case before the announcement.
The aging comedian previously said that he had consensual sexual contact with the woman, while under oath.
Prosecutors reopened the case as new evidence was unsealed in the woman’s related civil case and dozens of women came forward with similar accusations.
