Correctional officers across Ontario are still waiting to find out whether or not a countdown to strike action has begun. The Ontario Public Service Employees Union filed a “no board” request with the Ministry of Labour last Friday. The ministry was expected to release the report, which would allow for a strike, on Wednesday. Once the report is signed and released it will kick off a 17-day countdown to a possible strike or lockout.
Do you or anyone you know work inside the prison system? Will people even care about this strike?
