A Toronto police officer has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a raccoon.
Police received a call that a raccoon appearing to be blind was hanging around a store downtown. Two officers arrived around 12:30 this afternoon to corral the animal when one was bitten on the hand. The injury is not considered serious, but there is increased concern lately over rabies, since ten raccoons in Hamilton tested positive for the virus.
Should there be a cull on raccoons in the city, or should they be left alone? Have you ever dealt with raccoons yourself?
