All eastbound lanes of the QEW in Oakville are now open following a fiery, multi-vehicle crash that claimed two lives.
OPP say they have all Toronto-bound lanes of the highway near Trafalgar Road re-opened shortly after 3 p.m.
The collision, around 9 p.m. Tuesday, touched off a large fire in one of the trucks which was carrying fuel, which engulfed another vehicle that was pinned between the two trucks.
Two people in the vehicle that was pinned were trapped, and pronounced dead at the scene. Their names, ages, and hometowns have yet to be released.
Police said three people in a fourth vehicle were transported to hospital, but there’s been no update on the extent of their injuries.
