Yesterday, Oakley Show producer Lyndsey Vanstone was at a Canadian Tire at 11:30 am to buy a few items, when she realized that she was being followed by a man.
When she was looking at items for her cat, he began following her through the aisles.
She made her way to her car in the parking lot, and he followed.
She hopped into her car, and he walked over to his own, three cars over. She claims that he just stood there, drinking a coffee.
She decided to leave her spot and circle the lot to find a new spot, hoping he would leave by then.
He continued to follow her! He actually jumped into his own car, followed her, and ended up backing into a parking spot right next to her.
He eventually exited his car to rummage around in his backseat.
Lyndsey marked down his licence plate while she made a phone call to a friend, and then decided to exit the lot. This time he did not follow her.
She said she was panicking during the situation, and wasn’t sure what she could have done to handle the situation better. Should she have confronted the stranger? Is it a good idea to carry mace (even though it is illegal to do so in Canada) in cases like this one? Should she have called the police immediately when she felt that her life was in danger?
And why does everything seem to happen to Lyndsey?!?
Lyndsey described the story in her own words, and listeners shared their advice below.
