A third group of Syrian refugees will be arriving at Pearson International Airport today.
According to Immigration Minister John McCallum, there will be another 200 coming in on a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight, that’s expected to be landing in Toronto this afternoon.
The Liberal government continues to stay on pace with its target of bringing in 10,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by the end of 2015, including another 15,000 by the end of February 2016.
The first group of Syrian refugees arrived in Toronto on Thursday with 163 on board and the second flight brought in 150, which landed in Montreal on Saturday night.
Most of the refugees landing in Canada so far are primarily sponsored by groups, families or friends privately that are also giving them financial support.
