Toronto Police say that a 40 year old woman wanted in connection with an apparently unprovoked stabbing in the downtown PATH system has been arrested and charged.
Police were called to the scene at a Shoppers Drug Mart near Bay and Wellington at around 3.p.m. where according to reports, the suspect had entered the store and stabbed another woman in the chest.
The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The alleged attacker was identified as Rohinie Bisesar on Monday and police released a photograph in the hope of tracking her down.
Bisesar was placed under arrest on Tuesday afternoon and is now facing a charge of attempted murder and well as aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, December 16th.
Toronto police have thanked the public for their assistance, which they called ‘instrumental’ in this arrest.
