A 30-year old Torontonian has paid off his mortgage in only three years.
Financial writer Sean Cooper paid off a $255,000 than remained on his $425,000 house through frugal living and working 100-hour weeks between three jobs. He only took one vacation in the three-year span—a quick bus trip to Wisconsin. He has received a lot of hate online, where some people felt his ‘cheapskate’ ways weren’t worth it. Cooper has fought back, arguing he is now free and can now travel and do what he wants for the rest of his life.
Does he have it right, and the rest of us have it wrong? Did he do a smart thing by postponing his life?
