Runnin’ through the 6 with my Nike’s?
Nike have announced that they’re launching Air Max 1 ‘The 6′, a shoe specifically dedicated to Toronto. The shoe will feature a maple leaf, an image of CN tower on the inside liner of the heel, as well as ‘The 6′ in writing on the shoe’s tongue. One specific feature is their protection from snow and slush in the winters. You can get your hands on a pair for $165 (retail) starting Dec. 6, but it isn’t clear how much these limited edition shoes will cost in the secondary market.
Toronto’s nickname, ‘The 6′, was first coined by Canadian rapper Drake. It refers to the common number in the city’s main area codes: 416 and 647.
Will you get a pair and rep your city?
*Shoe will be available at in Toronto-area Nike retailers and Nike.com. Available in the U.S. at select Nike retailers on Dec. 17.
