An appeals court in South Africa has overturned a manslaughter conviction against Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius.
But that doesn’t mean he’s a free man.
He’s now been convicted of murder in the 2013 shooting death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine’s Day in his home.
The court ruled the manslaughter conviction had been based on a misinterpretation of laws and an erroneous dismissal of evidence.
Pistorius had been placed under house arrest a couple of months ago after serving one year of a five year sentence.
He will be sentenced in the new year. The minimum sentence for murder is 15 years.
