Do we need to bring corporal punishment back to Ontario schools?
Some parents are calling for the old ways to return following news that the number of primary student suspensions in the Toronto District School Board has increased almost 50% over the last four years, according to recent statistics.
JK to Grade 3 registered 810 suspensions in the stretch covering 2014-2015.
The number of primary student suspensions accounts for only 12% of all student suspensions in the TDSB, but saw the largest jump.

Are students more unruly today than they were “back in the day”? What’s with all of the suspensions? Are parents not correcting their children’s behaviour when they act inappropriately?
AM640 host Mike Stafford thinks this a signal. He believes that Ontario should give teachers the ability to punish unruly students with a few swift, corrective smacks to the butt. Do you agree?
