Canada’s Transport Minister says that he will not change his mind when it comes to the decision made about expanding Toronto’s island airport.
Marc Garneau indicated that he will not make a compromise and that the issue pertains to the quality of life for Torontonians, which is connected to the development of the waterfront.
Porter Airlines was hoping to renegotiate the agreement that was made between Ports Toronto, City of Toronto and the federal government to lengthen the runways at Billy Bishop airport allowing jets to land on the island.
It was an election promise held in place by the Liberals to not change the three-party agreement.
