Just A day after a 5 million dollar lawsuit was launched against Toronto police in an alleged assault case, we are learning more than ten police officers, including a tactical squad carrying shields and a battering ram, responded to a 911 call to an apartment in the city’s west end. Family say on November 6th Rodrigo Gonzalez had locked himself in the bathroom and his wife Sosana Chavarian, called 911. Surveillance footage from the building shows as many as six officers responded to the call just after midnight and seven more arriving an hour later. Two Tasers were used on Gonzalez, he was then rolled out on a stretcher, and died the next day in hospital.
