France`s number two, Prime Minister Manuel Valls expressed his concern over the possibility that the country could be the target for chemical and biological weapons. Speaking in front of the National Assembly on Thursday, the PM pushed to have the state of emergency in France extended for another three months.
Valls warned lawmakers that Islamic extremists could resort to such weapons, although he did not say there was any specific threat looming.
Authorities in France now confirming the mastermind of the Paris attacks was in fact killed. In a statement, a French prosecutor said 28 year old Belgian Abdelhamid Abaaoud, believed to have constructed the details of the plot was discovered. Authorities continue to sift through evidence to determine those killed after raids on apartments in St. Denis. Tips and surveillance lead police to the Paris suburb where they launched an assault operation.
Meanwhile in Belgium, Six raids were carried out in the last 24 hours. The move was carried out in Molenbeek and a other areas in Brussels.
Officials in the neighboring country announced additional terror measures looking at 400 million euros in additional funding to fight terrorism.
The cost would cover expanding the fight and add security.
