It looks like Canada`s plan to bring in 25,000 refugees in the new year could be slowed considerbaly due to debates about screening.
Many Canadians oppose the move to resettle arrivals from Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, with most believing the screening process can not be properly completed on time.
The plan from PM Justin Trudeau calls for refugees to be settled by January 1 , 2016. A recent Angus Reid poll, conducted just days after the Paris attacks, reveals about 54% of Canadians against the plan.
Specific details of the Liberals plan have still not been revealed and that has about 10% in the recent poll believing 25,000 is too many, while another 8% believe cost will be an issue.
The survey also revealed that opposition to bringing in refugees is highest in Alberta with Atlantic Canada showing the least concerns.
