Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson is being awarded the American League MVP.
29-year-old beat out Los Angeles Angels Mike Trout and Kansas City Royals Lorenzo Cain for the honor.
Donaldson hit .297 with a league-best 123 runs. It’s the first time the Blue Jays have won an AL East title since 1993.
The last and only Toronto Blue Jay to win the American League MVP Award was George Bell in 1987.
Donaldson nabbed 23 of the 30 first-place votes and finished with 385 points. Trout got the remaining seven first place votes, 22 second-place votes, as well as one third-place vote. Cain took 20 third-place votes.
Meanwhile, Bryce Harper took the National League MVP Award, he’s the youngest unanimous MVP winner in baseball history.
