Officers are asking the public to stay safe this time of year doing any outdoor work. Fitzpatrick wants to stress people to use safe ladders, and ensure all equipment is in good working order before starting any job. She says if you’re using a ladder, make sure it’s anchored correctly in addition to being secure.
Fitzpatrick also recommends wearing safe clothing, and to make sure the person is wearing some sort of safety device to ensure they’re secure in the event they should fall. Also, she says it’s important to have somebody with you to help in the event of an accident.
