Police are investigating after an organ that appears to be a heart was found outside a building at Ryerson University.
Const. Victor Kwong says the heart is too big to be human, but a doctor has been called in to confirm it.
The organ was found around 9 o clock this morning by a groundskeeper who was cleaning up garbage. Kwong says it fell out of a garbage bag.
Police say a student has since approached them, claiming responsibility for the heart, saying it was part of a school project. However, police haven’t yet confirmed it belonged to the student.
A small part of the school was closed off for a brief moment in time, but the heart did not disrupt any classes.
