Did Peel Regional Police stop a suicide bomber?
That’s what it looks like.
At 2 a.m. Saturday, just hours after the ISIS attacks on Paris had taken place, Peel Police were involved in a confrontation with a 26-year-old man at Golden Orchard Drive and Grand Forks Road (near Bloor and Dixie).
A source told the Toronto Sun HERE that the man in question was wearing what looked to be a suicide vest. In his hand was something that resembled a trigger device.
Officers shot the man four times. He was rushed to St. Mike’s hospital in downtown Toronto, and is expected to survive. Police say the man appeared to be emotionally unstable.
Another source told The Toronto Sun that the vest was not real. However, the Explosive Disposal Unit was called to the scene to investigate.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the incident.
