Jenny Migneault is an eloquent, outspoken, ferociously dedicated young wife of a Canadian soldier with PTSD. With her husband’s full support she has gone public with a blog and videos about life ‘in the fortress’ as she calls it. Jenny Migneault last year confronted then Veterans Affairs Minister Julian Fantino face-to-face in a very public manner.
Headlines this week about at least 54 Canadian Afghanistan mission soldiers committing suicide again raises the issue of how well we’re looking after our men and women who are in the military and under huge stress, living with PTSD and those who have left the CAF but still require help for their mental health issues.
