In honour of our fallen troops, and those currently serving, we take time to reflect, be thankful, and, of course: we wear poppies. At the end of the day, however, people are left wondering when and where to properly dispose of the pins.
The organizers of the Poppy Campaign, The Royal Canadian Legion, state that poppies should be removed immediately after Remembrance Day, however, it is acceptable to wear them to commemorative events outside of this time. They recommend that you leave it at a cenotaph, or the base of a war memorial.
There are over 6000 military memorials across Canada. For the full list, and for more information, click here.
