According to a leaked report there are massive cuts coming to the Toronto Police Department. Mike McCormack the head of the Toronto Police Association is not happy with the coming cuts. McCormack is hearing from members that there isn’t enough time for police officers to do proactive policing.
One of the big changes proposed is the closing of 17 police divisions in favour of ‘storefront’ stations. Some other changes include reducing platoon sizes, increasing civilian positions, outsourcing some functions to private security firms, and shrinking middle management.
