Ontario Education Minister Liz Sandals has announced $498M in funding to build 30 new schools and 26 renovation projects for existing ones.
Families will also benefit from increased access to safe, high-quality licensed child care with 122 new child care rooms for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
One of the lucky schools to get a complete rebuild is Davisville junior public school.
The new Davisville will expand capacity to 758 students.
Some of the other TDSB projects will be at Terry Fox Public school in Agincourt, which will receive an addition that houses 276 additional students and 5 new licenced child care rooms.
Norseman Junior middle public school in Etobicoke will receive an addition that houses another 322 students.
The TCDSB will also be getting a couple of new additions at St. Clement in Etobicoke and St. Augustine Of Canterbury in Downsview. Cardinal Newman in Scarborough will be getting a new school.
Overall the province is Investing in 56 New and Improved Schools, 2,135 New Licensed Child Care Spaces.
Ontario is providing school boards across the province with more than $11 billion over 10 years to help build new schools in areas of high growth, improve the condition of existing schools and invest in projects to reduce surplus space through school consolidations.
