After a mostly sunny week with temperatures well above seasonal, the weather will take a bit of a turn Friday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the GTA about very strong, sudden wind gusts up to 80 km/h, along with showers which could be heavy at times, with the arrival of cooler temperatures.
It says a cold front over Lower Michigan will make it’s way eastward to reach a line from Barrie south through Toronto to Niagara by noon or so.
There is the potential for minor tree damage.
Motorists are being advised to be ready for sudden gusty winds, which could result in difficult driving conditions.
