A Starbucks barista in the U.K. has people asking, ‘creepy or flattering?’, after the barista wrote a flirty message on a patrons cup.
In the U.K., Laura Roberts and her mother stopped into a Starbucks to get a coffee. They thought that it would be a typical experience at the popular coffee chain, but Miss Roberts was in for a bit of a surprise when she received her cup of coffee. The barista had strategically crossed off the ‘Careful, the beverage you are about to enjoy is extremely hot’, to only read, ‘Careful, you’re extremely hot’. Roberts’ mother posted the photo to facebook, and captioned the photo with, “Creepy barista writing inappropriate messages on my daughter’s coffee cup. Looks like son-in-law material.”
The coffee cup sparked outrage, and support, from internet commentators, as many had found the message to be ‘creepy’ and in poor taste. Roberts claims that the message was flattering, but she isn’t prepared to reciprocate the gesture as she is engaged to be married.
Do you think that the message was creepy, or flattering?
