A day after remnants of Hurricane Patricia drenched the GTA with over 50 mm of rain, comes another warning from Environment Canada.
It’s issued a special weather statement about the strong and gusty winds expected Thursday.
West to southwest winds are expected to develop by mid-morning over Southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe, and over Eastern Ontario by early afternoon.
A wind warning is in effect for gusts to 90 km/h for areas near Eastern Lake Erie and Eastern Lake Ontario.
Most other areas near the lower lakes, as well as in the St Lawrence Valley, can expect wind gusts to 80 km/h, possibly stronger.
These conditions may result in tree limbs coming down and local power outages.
It’s recommended you put away or secure any loose items on your property.
Although we work hard to prevent them, outages happen, especially in extreme weather. How to prepare & stay safe: https://t.co/nTL2MktjrH
