It’s a fact: nunchucks are cool. In your mind, you’re an expert in the use of the unique weapon, but in reality, you’d likely use them to inflict more damage upon yourself than your intended target.
Despite the latter fact, the Anderson Police Department in Northern California has decided to add the implement to their arsenal.
The weapon, made famous by Bruce Lee in the 70’s, has been adopted by a growing number of U.S. law enforcement agencies.
The two solid sticks connect by a nylon cord are an improvement on the traditional night stick, providing cops with a non-lethal way to tie up suspects’ wrists and ankles.
The department’s Sgt. Casey Day calls it a “two-for-one weapon”.
These things were more popular in the late 90’s, but dropped out of favour once Tasers were introduced.
