As you heard Tuesday on the Bill Carrol Show, Doug Ford said his brother Rob has “hit a bump in the road” in his battle with cancer.
We now know what that bump is. Ford’s office says that it has been confirmed that there is a new tumour growing on his bladder.
Councillor Ford was experiencing more abdominal pain, and he underwent a number of examinations and testing by his medical team at Mount Sinai Hospital.
It’s still not clear if the new tumour is related to the previous growths or whether it is malignant.
Ford will be undergoing treatments to address the new tumour and his office says new information will be released as it becomes available.
Ford was diagnosed with cancer last year and was forced to drop out of the mayor’s race.
After numerous chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he had major surgery in May to remove a cancerous tumour in his abdomen and by July, he was cleared to return to work.
Thank you everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers, I remain optimistic that I will be able to overcome this setback.
