Impaired driving charges have now been laid against two men involved in two separate collisions on Tuesday morning which both resulted in minor injuries for Toronto police officers.
In the first incident, around 12:30 a.m., a cruiser was rear-ended by a vehicle in the Finch Avenue West and Tobermory Drive area.
The driver of the vehicle and the was taken to hospital with serious injuries while two police officers were treated for minor injuries.
The driver has since been identified as 31 year old Devendra Ramroop of Toronto.
He has now been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and one count of refuse breath sample.
Meanwhile, just a few hours later, another vehicle t-boned another police cruiser, which was stationed at a roadblock at Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road.
Two officers were also taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries following this collision and a 48 year old man was placed under arrest.
Kiet Huynh of Toronto has since been charged with impaired driving, over 80 milligrams operation and failure to comply with a probation order.
Constable Clint Stibbe tells AM640 there were a total of 5 crashes overnight where the drivers were charged with impaired driving.
