Today marks John Tory’s 1st anniversary since beating Doug Ford in the 2014 Toronto mayoral election.
So, how’s he doing so far???

His approach to transit is raising questions. He promised not to raise TTC fares, but token prices are going up, and now children 12 and under ride transit for free. Residents are asking where things are with regards to the SmartTrack plan that Tory ran on.
Some critics argue that Tory has done nothing to improve relations between the Toronto Police and City Hall.
Despite conducting rush hour parking blitzes on popular routes in the city from time to time, traffic remains a problem in the city. While the blitzes get tons of attention from newspapers, tv and radio stations, they’ve done little to permanently eliminate gridlock during key times of the day.

In other news, a Mainstreet Research Poll suggests that 47% of Torontonians would vote for John Tory if an election were held right now, with Rob Ford garnering 20% of the votes. Councillor Mike Layton would grab 6%.
