Toronto Mayor John Tory is declaring October 27th to beBlue Jays Appreciation Day!
The day will honour the team’s outstanding performance in both the regular season and the playoff run which they ultimately lost in a close battle with the Kansas City Royals.
Tory encourages everybody to wear blue and white Tuesday, and to show their pride via social media with photos and memories commemorating their success this season.
“This season, especially in the last half and the playoff run, the Blue Jays made the city cheer. It made the city believe. It brought the city together as kind of one city,” Tory said during a press conference Monday morning.
“I hope what we’re going to do tomorrow will send a message to them to say how much we love them and appreciate what they did,” said Tory.
