Charges have now been laid against the woman who was behind the wheel of an SUV, which stuck and killed a four year old in Markham on Thursday.
The child, who has since been identified as Arisa Ahmed was walking with her sister near David Suzuki Public School in the area of Fieldside Street and Riverwalk Drive just before 2.p.m. when the incident occurred.
The little girl was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries where she later died from her injuries.
Her 7 year old sister remains in hospital with what have been described as as serious but non life threatening injuries.
The 39 year driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has now been charged with dangerous operation causing death and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Gowry Somasekarampillai of Markham is scheduled to appear in court on November 26th.
