Today is “Wynne Wednesday,” which means that teachers are set to picket outside the offices of MPP’s protesting against halted contract negotiations.
Education Minister Liz Sandals has been dubbed as “ill-informed” by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario in relation to getting both sides back to the bargaining table.
Members of the ETFO were infuriated by the Ontario Public School Board Association making an announcement last week that stated both sides had rectified all issues, except sick leave and benefits.
According to ETFO President Sam Hammond, the teachers union was pondering over an offer before resuming talks at the table.
Picket locations are expected to be setup in front of Harinder Malhi’s office in Brampton, the office of Charles Sousa in Mississauga and outside of the Peel District School Board’s office.
