There are more than a few people that are happy with the results of the polls last night, and Toronto’s mayor, John Tory, is counting himself as one of them.
John Tory spoke to the media on Tuesday morning, and addressed the recent results of the October 19th federal election, citing it as an “impressive victory” for both Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party. As Tory says, “His campaign championed investment in our cities, and included commitments to many of Toronto’s priorities, from building transit and affordable housing, to repairing social housing and addressing our city’s infrastructure needs,” this according to a statement that was released on Monday night.
Tory, who stayed neutral throughout the campaign, congratulated the new Prime Minister-designate on his victory, and also acknowledged Stephen Harper and Tom Mulcair for their hard fought battle over the campaign. John Tory, a former leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, understood the “rewards and challenges” of an electoral campaign, and offered his thanks to all of the leaders for their hard work over the campaign.
Do you think Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government will be good for Toronto and the GTA?
