Chaos was unleashed Saturday night at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, when hundreds of people who had given up their prized coats for safe keeping learned that they either wouldn’t see their coats again, or wouldn’t see the items they left in their coats ever again!
Coats were stolen and pilfered while concertgoers enjoyed a Disclosure concert.
WHO??? Here’s a photo of the electronic music duo:
One social media user complained that their PASSPORT had been lifted from their jacket! (Is that something you should leave in the care of others?)
Organizers and security are accused of dropping the ball.
The scene after the concert wrapped up deteriorated to the point where people began to force their way into the coat check to look for their belongings. Sources suggest that security did nothing as people took matters into their own hands.
Embrace Entertainment, the company that ran the concert, has apologized for the incident, and is trying to make it right. They’ve asked concrtgoers looking for lost property to contact Coat Connexion, the company that ran the coat check, for more information: email@example.com. (Yes, there are companies that will run your coat check for you!)
Do you turn in your jacket at events offering coat check? Do you trust other people with your belongings? Does the concert organizer owe these people a dime?
