It’s quite possible that the new Union Pearson Express that started running this past summer could be consumed by Mayor John Tory’s Smart Track plan.
The mayor says he feels the UP Express could serve the western portion of the city.
An update is also expected on Thursday and his executive committee will assess the plan next week.
SmartTrack is slated to cost $8 billion and the mayor says that the surface rail plan should take seven years to build.
Tory also says the plan will be included in the city’s report.
As Mayor, my job is to advocate & push for stable funding for transit, affordable housing & infrastructure. #SmartTrack
