Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy spoke at Ryerson University today at an event hosted by Canadian Journalists for Free Expression. At the press conference Fahmy called out Prime Minister Harper, saying he felt betrayed and let down by Harper when he refused to meet with his lawyer Amal Clooney. He also said Harper delegated the issue of his release to others and did not do enough to get him back to Canada. Fahmy has met with Liberal leader Justin Trudeau and NDP leader Tom Mulcair and has spoken out about their support.
Less than a week before Election Day, is Fahmy wrong to politicize this? Is he ungrateful or affecting real change?
