In an interview with British publicationTime Out London, he revealed that playing the role of bond has recently been a “drag” for him, and believes that the Bond franchise has run “dry”.
He states that he was contracted to do another one, filmed back to back with the one out soon. “Let’s film two movies back to back.’ I just went: ‘You’re out of your f—— minds.’ In the nicest possible way.”
When asked if he’d ever do another Bond movie, his response was rather blunt.
“Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment,” he said. “Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
“If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money,” he told Time Out.
“Look, I don’t give a f—. Good luck to them!” he said. “All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we’ve left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better. Make it better, that’s all.”
Are you disheartened by Craig’s comments? Is he right when he says that the franchise is out of gas? Should the series be put to rest for good?
