In a society where everybody is allowed to carry a weapon on their person, something like this is bound to happen!
A woman in a Michigan Home Depot deputized herself and fired multiple shots at a fleeing shoplifter’s SUV. The shoplifter was being pursued by store security.
Now, the 48-year-old gunslinger does have a concealed pistol licence, BUT, police argue that she may not have really had a reason to pull her weapon, as she wasn’t being threatened by the shoplifter, who managed to flee despite being the shooting.
Reports indicate that the woman has been released by Auburn Hills police pending an investigation.
Police say the suspect’s vehicle may have suffered a flat tire. $1,000 in merchandise was taken.
Michigan requires a shooter to be in danger of death, bodily harm or sexual assault in order to lawfully use a weapon.
Does a shoplifter deserve to be in the crosshairs of a gun? Does this incident highlight the problem that comes with members of the public arming themselves? What do you think?
