Twenty restaurant owners in the city say they are collectively owed $100,000 from the food delivery website TasteAway.com.
The website set up arrangements with the restaurants to take online orders, receive payment, retain a small fee, and then send the rest of the money back to the restaurant.
But none of TasteAway.com’s clients have received payment for several months, and the company went belly up on Monday.
It also is unclear who or what company exactly owns TasteAway.com
Who should be held accountable for the money owed by TasteAway.com? Did these restaurant owners fall for a scheme, or did the online delivery company simply run out of money?
