You run a very very very VERY large risk of falling to your death when you walk on a glass walkway at a tourist spot, whether it’s the glass walkway in the CN Tower, or the one very popular for the many tourists visiting the Grand Canyon
The odds weren’t on the side of tourists using the Yuntai Mountain glass walkway in China’s Henan province, located 1000 metres above the ground.
A 68 centimetre-wide glass pane shattered when some witnesses walked over it.
A panic ensued as people started shoving each other in an attempt to get to safety.
Hero Lee Dong Hai admitted that “A lot of people started to scream. I screamed out, ‘It cracked! It really cracked!’ and then I pushed the people in front of me so that we could run out of the way.”
The glass shattered after somebody dropped a steel mug. Luckily, there are three panes of glass, so no lives were truly in jeopardy.
