Toronto police chief Mark Saunders has asked anyone who attended the events / performance at Nuit Blanche over the weekend to turn over video evidence of a riot that broke out at Yonge / Dundas Sq. “We saw behaviour that was dangerous. We saw behaviour that was reckless. Behaviour that could have caused extremely serious injuries,” he said during a press conference this morning – noting it was lucky that no member of the public was seriously injured. One officer did suffer a broken bone and two police helmets were cracked in the violence but Saunders could say if the violence was a result of Nuit Blanche. One reporter asked during the press conference about the upcoming Jays playoff and if the city should be concerned about any kind of violent outbreak? Saunders noted that the city has held much bigger events and there shouldn’t be any cause for concern. Are you concerned as the Jays get ready to head back into the playoffs?
