Leafs president Brendan Shanahan stepped out onto the ice after Monday night’s practice, in his expensive suit & shoes, to give the team a few pointers. With three Stanley Cups to this name, along with the title of most powerful executive in charge of the team, Shanahan didn’t need to ask his audience for their undivided attention. Shanahan has never taken to the ice before as his tenure as Leafs president, but did jump into the middle of a ball hockey game during Leafs training game in Collingwood earlier this year. Is Shanahan’s involvement on the ice a good thing? Should the ‘front office’ ever step food onto the ‘shop floor’? Or when a Hall of Famer speaks, do you always listen?
