Queen’s Park has reached a tentative three-year deal with its over 35,000 members of OPSEU.
The members of the the Ontario Public Service Employees Union have been without a contract since the beginning of the year.
Details of the three-year deal aren’t being released , but Treasury Board President Deb Matthews called it a “net zero” deal.
That means if the deal includes a wage increase there would have to be savings elsewhere in the agreement.
The Liberals have said they will not fund salary increases for anyone in the public sector until they eliminate a 10.3 billion-dollar deficit.
A deal with correctional workers has still not been reached and Deb Matthews says they remain at the bargaining table to work on issues specific to them.
